1)ハギア・ソフィア大聖堂(イスタンブール)の中央ドーム、東側半ドーム、西側半ドーム、および中央ドーム直下の大ペンデンティヴについて、昨年度実施の現地調査(科研費国際学術研究)による写真測量データをメッシュ・データとして離散化し、約220,000点の格子点に関する形状解析を行なった。解析は、なお進行中であるが、現在までのところ、中央ドームに関しては、5世紀創建時の部分(主として南側および北側の約4分の1部分)と10世紀再建部分、14世紀再建部分の接合線が、内壁の曲率分布の相違から明らかになりつつある。再建部分の特定は、ドーム基部のコーニスについては、既往研究で指摘されているが、殻面に沿って明瞭に区分した研究はなく、来年度5月にギリシャで開催される歴史的建築物保存の国際会議で報告の予定である。2)東側半ドームについては、南北方向の断面に沿う形状図(基準円からのずれを視覚化した図)と曲率分布図を作成し、この部分が経線方向に沿う頂部と緯線方向に沿うやや低い部分に高曲率面をもち、その中間帯は低曲率面であることが判明した。特に、基部に近い部分で高曲率と低曲率が接し合う位置は、14世紀の再建工事の開始点と考えられ、興味深い結論となった。3)東側半ドームとアプシスの半ドームについて、南北断面の曲率分布から微小弧の中心を算定し、分布図を描くと、多くの中心点が上に開いた三角形のなかに入る。現在、この分布と半ドームの施工方法、特に曲面決定方法との関連を考察中である。4)解析用コンピューターと画像入力器材の選定と調達にやや時間を要したため、3月上旬の時点でペンデンティヴの解析には取りかかれない状況であるが、研究のペースを早めて結果を出し、中央ドーム、東西半ドームとの比較を行なう予定である。
