项目摘要

本研究は、親、保母などの養育者が日常的な育児実践の中で用いている「素朴な発達観」あるいは「暗黙の発達理論」の基本構造を以下の2つの研究を通して明らかにし、子どもの発達を支える社会文化的文脈の特質を探った。研究1「養育者がもつ素朴な発達観の内的構造分析」:就学前の子どもを持つ母親10名を対象に母子面接(各1〜2時間)を行ない、子どもの成長の過程について、母親自身の話法(話の組み立て・展開、用語、エピソードの選定など)による記述を行なってもらった。面接後、逐語録を作成し、子どもの発達をとらえる素朴なカテゴリー、関心の焦点、説明の様式、情報の源泉などの観点から、対象者ごとに素朴な発達観の内的構造の特徴を整理し、4名の分析者間で事例検討会を行なった。また、保育園・幼稚園・児童相談施設における保育者の会合に参加して、保育者の発達観に関わる自然会話の採集を行なった。母親の発達観の特徴として、a)関係性(自分との関わり)に基づいた子どもの行動・変化の見方、b)第1子と第2子との間での子ども観・発達観の変容、c)子どもの成長過程と対になった母親自身の生き方の変容、が抽出された。また、母親も保育者も「事例的な対象認識」を行なっていたが、前者では子どもとの関わりにおいて罪悪観などの情動性が強く作用することが示唆された。研究2「養育者の発達観と子どもとの相互作用の関係」:一家族を対象とした事例研究によって、母-父-子の相互作用を乳児が月齢6カ月の時点より16カ月の時点までの期間、毎週1回(各回平均1時間)縦断的に観察し、VTR録画を行なった。また、養育場面への参加観察によって、発話内容、相互作用の記録を行なった。現在までの分析を通して、次のような仮説群が構成されつつある。1)親子の相似に関わる素朴概念:「子どもが〜に似ている」という発話の構造(対象、相似の内容、理由、文脈)から、「親子」概念の社会的共同構成のプロセスと文化的な相互認知の機能が推測された。2)自由空間・禁止空間の漸次的調整:子どもの感覚運動機能の発達に応じた「自由空間」と「禁止空間」との相互調整が、子どもの環境世界の「隠れた文化次元」を構成する。
