本研究では、1890年代から第二次世界大戦に入る以前の1930年代までのおよそ半世紀間の日本農業教育の発達史を解明した。その結果、この間に日本の農業教育は西洋モデルの移植の段階を脱して日本的な諸特質を具有するようになったこと、質量両面の飛躍的な発展を示したことが明らかになった。本研究が取り扱った主要な研究課題に即して整理すれば、以下の通りである。1 国会図書館や国立公文書館などにおいて、帝国議会や文部省などの公文資料のほかに、農業関係の学会や諸団体の動向、ジャーナリズムの論調など、農業教育政策に関する資料を幅広く集め、教育政策史の視座から農業教育政策の展開を明らかにした。2 東大農学部などの成立と発展に関する資料を集め、中央における代表的な農業教育機関について、教育の展開や卒業生の動態などを明らかにした。3 高等農林学校の成立と発展に関する資料を集め、地域実態史の視座から、農業教育の先進地域の教育の実態を明らかにした。また、県立農学校との関係についても調査した。4 上記の教育機関に関する農業教育家の思想と実践を明らかにした。本研究の成果は、追って印刷・刊行する予定である。

This study sheds light on the development of agricultural education in Japan during the half century from the 1890s to the 1930s before the Second World War. As a result, Japan's agricultural education has been transformed into a western one. The characteristics of Japan's agricultural education have been demonstrated by the development of quality and quality. The thoughts and practices of agricultural educators concerned with educational institutions should be clarified. The results of this study are expected to be printed and published.
