EVALUATION OF PUBLIC WELEARE IN AGRICURTURAL INFRASTRUCTURE.IRRIGATION GANALS IN KITAMI-SITY

The purpose of this research project is to evaluate the public welfare of agricultural infrastructure, especially agricultural irrigation canals.The case study is applied in Kitami city.Kitam's projects to construct the citizen park used with agricultural irrigation canals have completed some years ago, so people's opinions for the park near the canals are confimed so far.The methodology is CONTIGENT VALUATION METHOD which is the common and appropriate valuation method to estimate public welfare of public goods, eg.the park used with agricultural irrigation canals.The questionnaire is tested to 465 household, and valid answers is 459 (the rate of validity, 98.7%).The positive evaluation to the park used with agridultural irrigation canals are shown in 422 householders.Next, we estimated the total economic value of agricultural irrigation canals to park, so that the total amount was about 1.1 million-yen per a year.
