本年度の研究計画に基ずき、国内主要3社と米国系4航空会社の実態調査と資料収集を行った.その分析を進め、統計資料の分析とデータベース化を行った.統計ソフトを利用して基本統計量の解析をほぼ終えている.これによって得た新たな知見は、1.1980年代後半より消費者が航空チケット価格にたいへん敏感になってきている.これは主に、米国系航空会社の戦略の影響が大きいことを確認した.2.企業外秘であり計算はできなかったが、格安航空チケットの販売比率が伸びていることを示すデータが得られた.3.利益を最大化するための座席の各種チケットの配分方法(例.Economyクラスでも、金額により数種類に別れる.)は需要予測の精度を上げることにより改善の余地がある.言い替えると、その予測こそ、利益最大化のkeyとなる.4.日本の航空行政の規制緩和は、消費者の利益を増大させる.この実態調査とともに、戦略的情報システムのモデルの理論的研究を進めた.数種類ある座席のクラスを一種の資産のクラスととらえ、この資産運用の目標収益率を下回る座席管理の運用パフォーマンスをリスクと定義し、リスク発生に罰金を課すような資産運用モデルを提案し、この最適配分を求めるための計算アルゴリズムを提案した.また、予約のキャンセルがある場合を不確実な選択と考え、最適停止・最適制御としてモデル化し、最適な販売方法を分析した.このモデルによると、キャンセルの確率が収益に及ぼす影響のきわめて大きいことがわかり、上記データ分析による知見3を支持するが、モデルを建てるときの仮定を緩和する方向でより実態にあったモデルを提案する方向で研究を継続している.
