3年間の萌芽研究を通して「モジュール化」概念の整理が出来た。まちづくりが狙う(住民サイド)のモチベーションは、過去の生活を大きく変えることなく、より便利な生活を享受できるかどうかである。この考え方だと「モジュール」はソフト的には、町内会サイズ、自治会サイズと考えることが出来、ハード的には、生活道路で区切られた1ないし2ブロックが単位として考えられる。外部と結びつくデザインルールあるいは、共通部分の認識は、ソフト的にはモジュールの所属する行政区であり、ハード的には道路、公共サービス施設、公共建築物があげられる。道路、公共建築物などは既存のものがあてはめられるが、モジュールに内包されるカプセル化した情報、すなわち各モジュールが独自に考えるべき部分が希薄だということがわかった。その部分にモチベーションを埋め込まないかぎり、モジュールがまちづくりの中でうまく動くことはない。そこで、住民生活シミュレーションモデルを組み立て、モチベーションの変化をみた。CGのヒューマンモデルを組み立て、基本的動作をビデオ撮影した映像から取り出し、時間軸の中での生活シミュレーションを行ってみた。現時点ではすべての動作情報をCGのヒューマンモデルに載せることが出来上がっておらず、一部単純化した時系列モデルになっている。一方、モジュール外のサービス環境が変化したとき、モジュールそのものに起こる変化を計算した。今回の考え方では、隣の街区に変化がおこった場合、その影響は直接こちらの街区にあらわれるのではなく、周辺環境、すなわちデザイン・ルールの変化という形で変化がおこる。具体的には、隣の街区がそれまでの工場から高層住宅に変化した場合、道路通行量、公共インフラの利用度、到達度、という形で変化がおこる。気候、日影などの影響を考慮できなかったのが、欠点である。いずれにしても、街区および住民をCGシミュレーションで組み立てなおすことにより、「モジュール化」とまちづくりを結びつけて考察することが出来た。今後は、行政側からの都市計画手法にどう取り込むことが可能なのかを考察したい。
