A study on a development of a retinal lattice degeneration

1. 材料与方法新生兔上斜肌（SOM）肌腱外露，用4-0丝线环成。丝线与手工振动器上的2-0尼龙连接，该振动器由磁性砂浆工作。在不同时期（1至3个月），SOM每天被迫收缩1小时。非刺激期（2 ~ 3个月）后取眼球去核，肉眼或显微镜下观察。结果(1)宏观表现：与对照组相比，在2至3个月时，SOM与巩膜插入处下方的视网膜显示轻微弥漫性变色。(2)镜下表现：2个月时SOM与巩膜交界处的脉络膜出现强烈水肿，3个月时出现轻微萎缩。巩膜增厚，胶原纤维排列不规则。但是视网膜的结构一直是正常的。基于目前研究的组织学变化和已知的脉络膜在维持视网膜结构和功能中的生理作用，在这些被迫使用SOM的兔子中，视网膜很有可能在未来发生像晶格变性之类的组织学变化。

1. Materials and MethodsA tendon of superior oblique muscle (SOM) was exposed, and looped by a 4-0 silk thread in a newborn rabbit. The silk thread was connected with a 2-0 nylon from a handmade vibrator which worked by a magnetic morter. A contraction of SOM forced on hour everyday during a various period (1 to 3 months). An eye ball was enucleated after a non-stimulated period (2 to 3 months), and macroscopically or microscopically observed.2. Result(1) macroscopic findings : A retina below the insertion of SOM to a sclera showed a slightly diffuse discoloration, compared to a control, at 2 to 3 months.(2) microscopic findings : A choroid adjacent to the insertion of SOM to a sclera had a strong edema at 2 months, and a slight atrophy at 3 months. A sclera was thickened, and the collagen fibers was irregularly arranged. But an architecture of the retina was normal at all the time.3. A further perspectionBased upon histological changes in the present study and a known physiological role of a choroid in a maintenance of retinal architecture and function, there is a high possibility that a retina may, in the future, develop a histological change like a lattice degeneration or something in these rabbit in which SOM was forced.
