WE STUDIED THE INFLUENCE OF THE WEEDING METHODS IN THE TRANSFORMATION PROCESS FROM EVEN-AGED UNIFORM FOREST TO SELECTION FOREST, ESPECIALLY MECHNIZATION AND LABORSAVING IN SILVICULTRURE WORKS AND HARVESTING WORKS.OPTIMIZATION OF ALTERNATIVE WORK SYSTEM INVESTIGATION / HARVEST SYSTEM PLANNING FOR OPENIN UP OF MONTAIN FORESTS USING THE INTEGRATED TERRAIN IFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEM.WE THEORETICALLY ANALYZED THE CONDTIONS NESESSARY FOR THE INTRODUCTION OF PROCESSORS BY COMPARING FULL-TREE LOGGING WITH TREE-LENGTH LOGGIIGN.WE ASSUMED THAT TREE-LENGTH LOGGING CONSISTED OF FELLING AND DELLIMBING BY CHAIN SAW, TRACTOR SKIDDING, AND DELIMBING AND BUCKING BY PROCESSOR.THE RESULTS WERE AS FOLLOWS : 1)THE PRODUCTIVITY OF CHAIN-SAW DELIMBING VARIES OVER A WIDE RANGE ACCORIDING TO TREE SPECIES, CHAIN-SAW HORSEPOWER, AND THE QUANTITY OF BRANCHES.2)THE BREAK-EVEN POINT IS DETERMINED BY THE SIZE OF TREES AND SKIDDING DISTANCE.3)WHEN THE DBH OF TREES INFLUENCES TREE-LENGHT LOGGING SYSTEM AND MORE USEFUL WITH INCREASING SKIDDING TRACTOR TYPE.THE LOGGING VEHICLES ARE COMPARED UNDER MOUNTAIN TERRAINS.
