项目摘要

本研究では,小学校・中学校・高等学校の体育指導者600名を対象に,器械運動(マット運動の前転・後転,とび箱運動の開脚跳び・かかえ込み跳び,鉄棒運動の逆上がり・後まわり),陸上運動(障害走・走高跳・走幅跳),水泳(平泳・クロール),ボール運動(バスケットボール)の各種目について,それぞれの運動技能をどのような言語教示(指導ことば)を用いて指導しているかについて自由記述法と面接法により調査した。収拾した指導ことばは,運動学習理論に基づいて内容分析とカテゴリー化を行い,指導ことばの望ましいあり方を探るとともに,言語教示の与え方を体育指導の重要な教育技術として位置づけようとした。その結果,体育授業の場で用いられている指導ことばは,論理的と抽象的との二つに大別された。論理的指導ことばとは,正しい技術の解説ややり方を科学的・バイオメカニクス的に説明することであり,抽象的指導ことばとは,日常生活の中にみられる動作を例にした比喩的な表現により,運動イメージを導くような説明ことばである。これらの指導ことばの用いられ方を発達的にみると,小学校では抽象的指導ことばが,中・高等学校では理論的指導ことばが多用されている。教師の専門性との関係では,体育科の免許所有者は非所有者に比べて学習者の発達段階にかかわりなく,理論的指導ことばを多用している。また指導の経験年数との関係では,経験年数の長い指導者の方が,短い指導者より比喩的表現を用いた抽象的指導ことばを多用している傾向が認められた。学習の初期の段階では,では,情報が詳しすぎたり,多すぎたりすることは,かえってマイナスになることが多く,特に,初心者や年少者は単純で簡潔であり,しかも内容のわかりやすいことばで指導することが必要である。本研究の結果から,体育指導においては,学習者の発達段階や言語理解能力などに立脚した指導ことば,とりわけ比喩的な表現を用いた抽象的指導ことばの研究を一層深めていく必要性が確認された。
