1.日本語と英語を同時に習得しつつあるバイリンガル児(研究対象児童T)の1年間(8才)の英語発達の過程を,日本語及び英語の両面か記録し,分析のためのデータを収集した。・日本語に関しては,小学校2年生在学中の作文の記録,漢学の学習過程、教科書の朗読百人一首の学習,ことわざの学習等により,日本語の学力の向上がどのように進むか,毎日の日誌(ジャーナル)として資料化した。・英語に関しては,0才の時から英語によるインプットが継続されているため,家庭において母親との会話を英語で行うことにより,英語と日本語が同時に伸びていく環境を確保し,英語の聞き,話し,読み,書く能力向上の過程を記録し,文字化して行った。一カ月あまりの米国における学校教育プログラムに参加することによって,英語の言語能力,異文化理解の態度がどのようであったかを,ビデオ及びジャーナルで記録して行った。バイリンガル教育がモノリンガル教育以上に,二言語の能力を向上させるという先行研究の調査を行い,英語と日本語の同時習得が,相乗効果をもたらすことを明らかにし,国際化時代に必要な児童生徒の言語教育のあり方について検討した。3.バイリンガル児Tの1才〜3才期の日本語及び英語使用の実態を文字化した資料をもとに分析し,スピーチフォーミュラの使用状況,理解状況を分析し,その成果を中国四国教育学会誌『教育学研究紀要』に掲載した。4.8才期の英語使用状況、理解状況を記録したデータを,英語母語話者のチェックにより,正用、誤用、非用の観点から調査した。5.本研究は、「日英両語同時習得の縦断研研究」の一部をなすものである。
