The porpuse of this investigation is to examine the competition among the trust banks and life insurance companies in the Japanese pension market.This problem has attracted considerable attention with increase of the aged population. This study attempted to synthetically investigate two aspects of insurance business and financial business on the trust banks and life insurance companies.The following were founded,1. Trust banks maintain a superior position to life insurance companies in the Japamese pension market.2. The conducts of the trust banks and life insurance companies are closely connected with their own Japanese Keiretsu(firm group) .3. Insurance business is not independent to financial business on the trust banks and life insurance companies.
