まず、ヂオファントス近似の問題に関しては、Beukerの2重積分の一応用として、対数関数の有理点での値の非2次無理数度(2次の代数的数との距離を計る1つの尺度)の精密な評価を与えることに成功した。現在、論文を作成中である。また、2重対数関数(dilogarithm)の有理点での点での値の無理数度に関しては、以前に得た評価を改良するべく研究を重ねた。現在、進行中であるが、改良できる見通しである。これに関しては、フランスのRhin教授とイタリアのViola教授も、同じテーマで研究を続けており、e-mailを通じて共同研究を計画している。有理数、特に、3/2のベキの少数部分の分布の研究(Mahlerの問題)は、残念ながらポジティヴな結果は得られなかった。ここ数年、多大の努力を払ってきたが、これは難問であった。しかし、数々の試みは、決して無駄ではないと思うし、これからも引き続き研究テーマとしていくつもりである。互いに素な自然数上の無限和を求める一般公式を数種類発見した。これは、Farey数列と密接に関係しており、Mordell和への応用を目指している。特に、いまだに無理数性さえ知られていないEulerの定数の、美しい表示を与えることができた。また、一次元離散力学系とMahler関数との驚くべき関係を見い出し、北海道大学での『複雑系の構成論および計算論のための実験数学』研究会にて講演を行った。最後になったが、研究分担者の方々には、本研究を中心に様々な協力をしていただいた。ここに感謝の意を表したい。

In this paper, we discuss the problem of Beuker's quadratic integral and its application to non-quadratic irrational degree (the distance between quadratic algebraic number and its scale).
