河野敬雄:ブラウン運動で知られている結果を、マルコフ性を持たない正規過程のクラスに拡張する方向で研究を進めて結果を得た。これらの研究によって、逆にブラウン運動の結果に対する理解を深めることが出来た。また、確率過程を現象解析におけるモデルとして応用する可能性を示した。畑 政義:ディオファンタス近似と超越数に関して研究し、対数値の非二次無理数度に関する結果を得た。西和田公正:複素算術幾何平均集合の自己相似性について研究した。宮本宗実:セルオートマトンの極限挙動を研究した。浅野 潔:非圧縮性及び圧縮性のオイラー流について研究した。森本芳則:1次元シュレ-ディンガー作用素の正値性に関するSawyerの結果を用いて楠岡-スツルック-保城型作用素が準楕円型になるための必要十分条件を与えた。
