Socio-economic Study on Food Security and Livelihood of Rural Areas in Southeastern Africa

东南非洲国家的农户采取了多种生计策略，以实现粮食安全为最终目标。20世纪80年代以来，随着国家层面的宏观政治经济转型，我们研究点的农户改变了他们的生计组合。该研究项目通过对非洲农村的实地考察，成功地调查了农村生计的现实、粮食安全的途径及其制约因素。该项目的成果载于几本书（日文）和几篇文章（英文）。

Multiple livelihood strategies have been applied by the rural households in southeastern African countries in order to achieve the food security as the ultimate goal. Coping with the macro politico-economic transformations at national level since 1980s, the rural households in our research sites modified their portfolios of livelihood. This study project successfully investigated into the reality of the rural livelihood, the ways of food security and their constraints with the fieldworks in the rural Africa. The results of this project are available in several books (in Japanese) and articles (in English).
