项目摘要

アフリカは世界で人口一人当たり食糧生産量が長期に減少してきた唯一の大陸であり、飢餓と自然資源枯渇及び環境破壊が長期にわたり悪化してきた。受け入れ研究者は過去5年ほどの期間タンザニア人の院生を指導して同国での飢餓問題の経済政策分析で博士論文を書かせ、タンザニアの調査を実施し、2000-2001には日産科学振興財団、2001年には科学研究費の企画調査研究資金を受けサブサハラ・アフリカにおける飢餓・資源枯渇・環境問題の経済学的農学的調査研究を行ってきた。これらの研究を学際的に深めるため、2002-2005年の期間科学研究費補助金申請を計画し、ナイジェリア、タンザニア、セネガルなどのサブサハラ・アフリカ諸国を対象にし、国際・国内研究所、大学、政府機関などの協力を得ながら飢餓・資源枯渇・環境問題の経済学的・作物学的・水文学的・土壌学的・人口学的・栄養経済学的研究を農家、農村における調査・研究を重点に実施し、これら諸側面からの飢餓・資源枯渇・環境問題の要因分析と解決方策を明らかにする努力を行ってきた。この研究をナイジェリアに対して深めるため外国人招へい研究者としてチアヌ博士を招聘した。受け入れ研究者はチアヌ博士と協力して、平成13・14年度にナイジェリアでの農家・農村調査を実施し、上記研究の経済学的農学的側面をナイジェリアと日本国内において研究してきた。来年度は同じ研究目的を追求し、国際学術雑誌に投稿するとともに、最終研究報告を来年度英文でまとめる予定である。
