Life Story Research of the South Korean Learners-Their Experience of Conflict and Acceptance of Japan and Japanese Language

在日本教学史的研究领域中，教科书和政策方针是分析的主要对象，而接受教育的学习者的经验却没有得到充分的重视。因此，本研究的重点是在第二次世界大战后重新开始日语教育的1960-70年代开始学习日语的韩国人的生活故事。本研究的目的在于厘清他们对前宗主国语言日语的冲突与接受过程。我的研究结果发现，大多数学习者都有过这样的经历：他们遇到过“你为什么要学日语”的问题，被人用黄疸的眼光看待，对学习日语感到自卑。此外，在没有足够的教材和教师的情况下，也有很多学习者失去了对日语的兴趣。然而，本研究也澄清了一些学习者在这种不利的情况下，仍然通过寻找自己的意义来保持学习日语的动机。

In the research area of Japanese teaching history, while the textbook and the policy guideline had been the main target of analysis, the experience of learners who received the education had not sufficiently been taken up as subject. This study, thus, focused on the life stories of the South Korean people who began to study Japanese language in the 1960-70's, when Japanese language education was started again after World War II. The aim of this study was to clarify the process of their conflict and acceptance of Japanese language, a language of former suzerain . As the result of my research, it was found that most of the learners had had the experiences that they had encountered the question "Why are you studying Japanese?", been looked with a jaundiced eye, and felt inferior about studying Japanese. Moreover, there were also a lot of learners who lost the interest in Japanese language in the situation where no sufficient teaching material and teacher was available. However, this research also clarified that some learners kept their motivations by finding their own meaning for studying Japanese even under such a disadvantageous situation.
