2年目である令和4（2022）年度は、前フランコ式の理論書とケルンのフランコ『計量音楽技法』（1280年頃）および10の「後フランコ式」(1280-1320年頃)の理論書（無名者『現代人は簡潔さを賛美し』他）とを対照させ、リズム理論の変遷を考察した。加えて、1270-1330年頃に成立した楽譜写本約15点における楽曲とその記譜法を分析し、音楽理論書で論じられているリズム理論がどの程度楽譜写本の記譜で実践されているのかを検討した。分析の結果、後フランコ式の10の理論書全てがフランコ『計量音楽技法』第7章のリガトゥーラの教えを引用していた。リガトゥーラとは複数の音を連結した音符のことで、前フランコ式理論ではリズム・モードと呼ばれるリズム・パターンの種類（前フランコ式では6種類が基本）によって、同じ形のリガトゥーラでも音価の読み方が変わることがあったが、フランコはリズム・モードの種類に関係なく、1つのリガトゥーラの音符の形状に対して、1つの音価の配列（あるいはリズム）のみを与え、その分様々なリガトゥーラの記譜を考案した。このフランコのリガトゥーラの規則は前フランコ式理論およびリズム・モードが廃れた14世紀以降も音楽理論書や楽譜写本で使われた。特に1270年頃から1300年頃の間に編纂されたモテット集F-MOf H 196の場合、古いファシクルは前フランコ式のリガトゥーラで書かれているが、新しいファシクルにはフランコの新しいリガトゥーラが用いられており、これはこの楽譜写本の作製の途中でフランコ『計量音楽技法』の教えが急激に広まったことを意味する。一方、フランコは前フランコ式の6種類のリズム・モードを5種類に再編成したが、後フランコ式の理論書のうち半数以上が従来の6種類の方を採用しており、この点に関しては前フランコ式理論の影響力の強さが確認できた。
