臨床倫理コンサルテーションで初動するチームメンバーが，急性期医療機関で起こる倫理問題に対してどのようなケースコンサルテーション・スキルを用いているのかを明らかにするため，同じ理念のもとに日本国内で急性期医療を提供している複数の病院で倫理コンサルテーション活動に関わっている多職種に半構造化インタビューを実施した。インタビュー参加者は現在13名で，職種は医師，看護師，助産師，社会福祉士，事務職員であった。各参加者のインタビューデータを解析し，その上で比較分析をしている。依頼者の置かれた立場での緊急性を考慮しつつ，中立的立場で事例の緊急性および倫理的問題の重大性の判断スキルがあることが明らかになった。また，事例の分析においては，依頼者の発する少ない情報から，倫理的問題の本質に関してあたりをつけ，その問題を裏付ける情報，ガイドラインがどこに，または誰がもっているかも把握して見通しを立てるスキルがあることも明らかになった。初動者の職種によって違いのない「コアスキル」と職種によって一部異なる「周辺的なスキル」があることが明らかになった。対象者を繰り返し募集するが，目標予定人数には到達していない。今後は現在あるデータを丁寧にコードからサブカテゴリーと形成し，研究参加者間で比較分析をして，抽象度を高めていき，ASBHのコア・コンピテンシーや国内で発表されている上級倫理認定士の語りから抽出された臨床倫理コンサルタントのコンピテンシーと比較して，本邦の医療施設の実情にあった実効性のある倫理コンサルテーション体制について検討していく予定である。また，初動者の職種による求められるスキルが異なる可能性があり，職種間での共通性と差異性に関しても検討していく予定である。
