Family Change and Family Strategy in Contemporary Chinese Family : Toward Comparison with Japan

这篇关于当代中国剧烈社会变革下家庭生活的研究分为两部分。一是《当代中国家庭综合调查》的后续调查（1997年和1998年与中方团队联合实施，科研资助no . 0904433）。后续调查在相同的调查地点进行：城市在上海和成都，农村在江苏太仓，农村在四川宜平。二是对通过上述项目获得的数据进行进一步分析。我们的研究框架结合了两个比较轴（城市与农村，沿海与内陆）的有效性得到了证明。特别值得一提的是，经济发展带来的城市家庭住房和存量的改善，以及成员离开农场从事工业工作带来的内陆农村家庭生活方式的改变。最终报告的编写是为了在案例资料的基础上，详细讨论统计分析有时无法涵盖的当代中国家庭的家庭策略。此外，为公开使用而编辑的采访记录也包括在内。我们研究的另一个成果是出版了《当代中国家庭的家庭变迁与家庭战略》（石原主编，NAKANISHI-YA Co., 2004），其中包含了对1997-1998年联合研究的进一步分析。可以说，我们研究的第三个成果是，利用日本国家家庭研究项目组开发的问卷在中国实施全国抽样调查的计划，已经开始走向更全面的比较研究。

This research on family life under drastic social change in contemporary China consists of two parts. One is the follow up survey of General Survey of contemporary Chinese Family (joint project with Chinese team implemented in 1997 and 1998 with Grant in Aid for Scientific Research #0904433). The follow up survey was made at the same survey sites : Shanghai and Chengdu as urban area and Taicang in Jiangsu province and Yiping in Sichuan province as rural area.. The other is further analyses of the data obtained through the above project.The validity of our research framework that combine two axes of comparison (urban vs. rural and coastal vs. inland ) is certified. Special findings to mention are the improvement in housing and stock accumulation among urban families brought by economic development and the changing life pattern among inland rural families brought through industrial work which members engage leaving the farm.Final report is compiled in order to discuss, upon case data, family strategy of contemporary Chinese family in detail which statistical analyses sometimes fail to cover. Also, interview records edited for public use are included.Another fruit of our research is the publication of Family Change and Family Strategy among Contemporary Chinese Families (ISHIHARA ed. NAKANISHI-YA Co. 2004) containing the further analyses of the 1997-1998 joint research.We may say the third fruit of our research is that the planning to implement national sample survey in China using questionnaire developed by National Family Research in Japan project team has started toward more comprehensive comparative study.
