项目摘要

本課題「日韓の環境文学の研究調査」の主たる目的は、平成19年度に開催予定の日韓合同の文学・環境シンポジウム(以下「日韓合同シンポジウム」)に向けた基礎的調査として、日本の環境文学・思想の研究を深めるとともに、韓国の環境文学・思想の情報収集と調査・研究を遂行することにある。上記の目的を達成するため、研究代表者及び研究分担者は次の4つの具体的な課題を設定し、各自の役割分担を遂行する作業に着手した。各自が分担すべき課題は、(1)日本の環境文学の体系的考察、(2)韓国の環境文学の情報収集・調査・研究、(3)日韓の環境文学の書誌作成。(4)「日韓合同シンポジウム」における共通テキストとしての日本の環境文学作品(石牟礼道子、山尾三省、宮沢賢治の著作)の英語翻訳と序文作成、である。また、これらの作業過程にあっては電子メールを介した情報交換や意見交換を継続したのみならず、平成18年5月と9月、2度にわたり研究会を催し、各役割分担の遂行状況を把握すると同時に討議を重ねるなど、課題遂行に向けた協同体制を堅持した。本課題に必要な韓国側研究者との連携については、まず「日韓合同シンポジウム」をめぐる連絡網の構築を実現させた。次いで、平成18年11月に研究代表者他4名が訪韓し、韓国側研究者と意見交換・協議を通じて交流を深めたばかりか、ASLE-Korea大会のシンポジウム「日韓環境文学の現在と将来」に参加した。さらにその機会を利用し、東アジアからの研究・情報発信に関わる核の形成の意義を訴えて共感を得た。このような作業を鋭意継続した結果、4つの具体的課題をすべて遂行したほか、国際的に著名な詩人3名を招聘講師として迎えつつ、「場所、言葉、自然-日韓環境文学の<いま>を考える」を統一テーマとした「日韓合同シンポジウム」を本年8月金沢市で開催することを確定させた。
