项目摘要

本研究は、絵画の基本的構成要素である線に焦点を当て、線画によるイメージの表出とその感受という感性コミュニケーションを検討した。実験では、線の構成する形によって与えられる“画の感性的意味"、及び、線画を媒介として表現者と鑑賞者の間で共感が成立するプロセスを検討した。表現者には、「線画によって主観的な思考・イメージを客体化させる」という課題を与え、線の表現によって、ある言葉から生じる感覚と等価のものを記録させた。次に、表現された線画に対して、多数の鑑賞者に評価させた。評価は、「自分の主観的な思考・イメージとして共感できる」という判断基準で行なわせた。結果は、以下のようにまとめることが出来る。1)鑑賞者の選択結果をまとめると、多くの人が共通して共感すると感じる線画があることが明らかにされた。また、どのような絵が選択されるかについて男女の差はみられない。2)得点結果を因子分析し抽出された3つの因子から、イメージによって表現する方も見る方も質的に異なった判断過程が含まれると考えられる。3)表現された線画をみると、非常に多様であるが、各々の言葉について全体に共通するような一般的特徴がある。これらの結果は、見る人に広く共感される絵、叉は、分かりやすい絵というものが、描かれているものが抽象的な形であって存在することを意味する。本研究では、ある絵を見た時に引き起こされるいわば“前言語的"なプロセス、言語で表わせないような漠然とした共感が、形とどの様に関係づけられるのかを明らかにする糸口となる。表現され共感を呼ぶ線画が共通した特徴をもつこと、及び、それらの特徴が現実の作品にも反映されていることは、形を媒介として表現者から鑑賞者へと感性が伝達されることを意味する。
