In this research projects, I realized the following items.1)This study demonstrated a significant elevation of the heat-induced pain threshold and a tendency for the warm sensation threshold to elevate, and provides evidence that the warming sensation has a negative feedback influence on heat pain intensity in humans, and provides a theoretical basis for the application of linear polarized near-infrared light radiation to the trigeminal region.2)I also demonstrated that short-term wearing of an oral splint may inhibit some noxious and sensory inputs from cervically innervated structures, which are primarily served by unmyelinated C fibers, and conclude that oral splints may be appropriate for the treatment of painful cervical disorders.3)Using muscle hardness meter, I substantiated that patients with masticatory myofascial pain have different muscle properties in the recovering phase after contraction, probably due to a slower intramuscular reperfusion.4)I also revealed that muscle hardness characteristics of the masseter muscle completely differed from t we hose of the biceps brachii muscle after repetitive muscle activation.5)This research also indicated that mouth opening training produces non-segmental analgesic effects mediated by C fiber and A-delta fiber.
