A new retractor was made to attach three-color light emitting diode (LED) tips. This retractor was used to open the thoracotomy incision. The LEDs were attached inside the retracotr, which LEDs directly illuminated the thoracic cavity. LED tips are constructed with three-color (red, yellow, and blue) micro LED dices. We tested the three color wave strength to set up the most proper LED illuminating mixture. LEDs illuminate the thoracic cavity, such as, some branches of the nerve, pulmonary artery and vein, lymph nodes. We are trying to find the proper setting of LED wave strength to distinguish the mediastinal organs from each other. This will be a talor-made lighting in the operating theater.Changes of skin temperature after thoracic sympathecotmy were observed. There were some correlation between the anhidrosis lesion and the increased body temperature lesion in the early postoperative period. Body temperature was decreased some degree, however, anhidrosis lesion did not changed after a long time follow up period. These findings suggest some sympathetic reconstruction disorders will cause in the damaged lesion skin temperature and anhidrosis.
