项目摘要

マルチメディアデータベースシステムは各メディアが統合されていなければならない。しかし現在に至るまでその統合の方法が分からなかった。世界で始めて,この統合の方法を提案した。その方法は,概念スキーマの記述レベルとして仮想現実感データモデルを用いる方法である。即ち各メディアで記述されたものを一次情報と考えるのではなく,それはあるメディアによるビューにすぎないと考える。真の情報はそのメディアで記述されている人物,物,其の行動等のイベントであるとする。種々のメディアで入力されると,ビデオや写真では構図解析,被写体認識,イベント認識を行い,仮想現実感世界を更新する。データベースを検索した結果の表示は,この仮想世界の事物やイベントに対してなされ,その結果は,ビデオで要求されれば,仮想世界中のカメラを望みの経路に従って動かしながら撮影した物を見せる。写真を要求されたら,適当な位置に仮想カメラを置いて撮影した画像を見せる。このように処理することにより,例えば写真で入力された内容はビデオでも提示出来るようになり,究極のマルチメディアデータベースシステムの構築法が示された。昨年度設計された仮想現実感データベースシステムに関しては,BNFで定義された仮想現実感世界を生成し,同時にデータベースに蓄積するシステムを試作した。表駆動方式で試作したが,第一版として静止物の部分は出来た。動く物,イベントの部分は別システムとして作成した。これらの統合は今後の課題として残されている。
