application is made for an automated live imaging system for the analysis of fluorescence signals in living cell and tissue cultures under controlled and programmable environmental conditions, some of which are rhythmic. The device will be used to record longitudinal measurements of molecular and physiological rhythms with the aid of fluorescence microscopy at the single cell level and in a network over several days and to analyze their circadian rhythms. The aim is to characterize the ontogenetic and organ-specific development and stabilization of circadian rhythms and molecular manipulation mechanisms as a potential therapeutic approach for neuropsychiatric and metabolic-endocrine diseases.
