東・東南アジア調整班および各研究計画のメンバーが、どのような地域でどのような言語を調査しているのか、それらの言語がいかなる現状にあるのかなどの基本情報を提示するための基盤整備を、主にウェブ上で行った。計画研究の代表者が中心となり、担当地域の少数言語について現地調査と情報収集を行った、多くの場合で、現地への還元を十分に考慮して現地の研究者との共同研究という形をとっている。収集した資料は整理・分析を進め、公表が可能になったものは順次成果報告書として出版され、また今後も出版される予定である。調整班のメンバーでカヴァーしきれない地域の危機言語については、研究協力者の土田滋氏(帝京平成大学教授)および月田尚美氏(愛知県立大学助教授)に台湾の原住民語の調査を、平林輝雄氏(長崎県立大学教授)にインドネシア、北スラウェシ洲のトンサワン語などの少数言語の調査を依頼した。6月2日の東京での第5回全体会議・第3回国際学術講演会では「調査の現状・問題点と今後の展望(東・東南アジア)」というタイトルで東・東南アジア班としての報告を行った。11月25日の京都での第6回全体会議・第4回国際学術講演会では、東・東南アジア班の研究会が開催され、奈良毅、ペーリ・バースカララーオ、中西裕樹、坂本比奈子、藪司郎、山口真佐夫、白井聡子、林範彦、高橋慶治の各氏および北野浩章が研究発表を行った。なお東・東南アジア班と各研究計画のメンバーは、普段から電子メールを利用して頻繁に情報交換を行ってきたが、この二回の全体会議の折には、調整班でも会議を開き、情報交換と研究の中間報告および研究計画の調整を行った。
