この研究の目標は、言語理論、言語類型論の成果を取り入れたカパンパンガン語(Kapampangan)の分析、およびカパンパンガン語の文法(主に形態論と統語論)の包括的な記述である。本年度は以下のような研究を行った。1.前年度に引き続き、ネイティブ・スピーカーのコンサルタントの協力で、自然談話資料の録音と文字化の作業を行った。これによりさらに多くの談話資料が、今回および将来の研究のために整備された。また、基礎語彙を収集する作業にも取りかかった。語彙収集は今後も継続して行う予定である。2.資料が充実したことにより、この言語の自然な状況下での使用の実態がしだいに明らかになってきた。本年度の目標である次の二点について主な成果を述べる。(1)第二位置の接語(second-position clitics)のふるまいこの言語では、第二位置の接語の使用はほぼ義務的だが、必ずしも一貫して義務的であるとも言えない。使用・不使用の条件は、機能的な要請や、国語であるフィリピノ語などの影響も考えられる。なお、接語の前に来る第一要素(host)の特徴などについては、なお不明な点もあり、これからの研究の課題である。(2)複文構造をどう特徴づけるかという問題名詞節、副詞節、関係節という三つの複文タイプは、類型論的には決して普遍的なものではない。カパンパンガン語では特に、名詞節(補文complement clauses)が、連動詞(serial verbs)などの下位タイプに分類する必要がある。また、節の結合形式にもいくつかの微妙な違いが見られることがわかった。今年度の研究の成果を取り入れ、この言語の短い文法概要をまとめた。今後の計画として、これまでに得られた資料をさらに増やし、より包括的な文法を書く予定である。

The purpose of this research is to obtain the achievements of speech theory and speech type theory, including the analysis of Kapampangan, the grammar of Kapampangan and the description of Kapampangan.
