项目摘要

今年度は、(1)大名藩邸空間とその歴史的変遷に関する分析、(2)大名藩邸の政治的機能に関する分析、(3)大名藩邸建築の社会的機能に関する分析の三つのテーマを掲げ、各研究担当者を中心として、関連史料の収集と分析作業を行った。(1)については、まず、大名の家政および藩政の展開と江戸藩邸の拝領事情との関連性に着目し、その事例として、特に、これまで検討されてこなかった大名抱屋敷の購入・譲渡の過程を記録した史料である「大久保村御抱屋敷御譲請一巻」(徳川林政史研究所所蔵)等を翻刻するとともに、その分析を行った。また、江戸藩邸の建築に際して、国許の御殿・屋敷を転用する事例や、材質により建築材の調達方法が異なる事例など、従来指摘されてこなかった新たな事実が明らかになった。藩邸の建築・修復における材木の転用・再利用の実態を明らかにしたことは、当時の森林資源に対する認識を垣間見ることができ、環境歴史学的な側面からの分析が進んだと位置づけられる。この点は、渋谷葉子氏をはじめとする外部の研究協力者との連携による研究成果である。(2)では、席図などの儀礼行為における空間利用に関する史料収集を推進し、幕藩関係の安定化に不可欠である将軍御成などの諸儀礼や、大名家臣の藩主への拝謁行為から読みとれる大名社会の秩序の様相など、儀礼における藩邸空間の利用形態についての具体的な分析を行った。(3)では、藩邸内の庭園遊覧を媒介とした大名・旗本等との交流に関する分析や、長屋・薬園など大名藩邸を構成する御殿以外の諸施設の利用形態と社会的役割について、「御日記」(徳川林政史研究所所蔵)などの文献資料の分析にとどまらず、大名屋敷絵図(徳川林政史研究所、蓬左文庫等所蔵)をはじめとする絵画・図画資料の検討も行った。このように、今年度における大名藩邸研究は、各分野において研究の進展が見られたが、今後は大名藩邸が有した諸機能について、総体的に位置づけていく研究が不可欠である。
