本年度も津波研究班、噴火研究班、台風研究班の三班にわかれて、フィールドワークを実施した。津波研究班では、62年度に引き続き岩手県の三陸地方を対象としたマス・サーベイとインテンシブな聞き取り調査ならびに資料収集を行なった。調査対象地は主として岩手県大般渡市(300)で、ほかに三陸町綾里、吉浜、越喜来、釜石市唐丹町、宮城県志津川町(各200)であった。調査内容は田老町と同じ調査票であり、このことによって、三陸各地区間の災害文化の比較が可能である。火山班の場合には、北海道有珠山周辺の虻田町、壮瞥町において、住民の意識調査(1000)を実施した。調査項目は、桜島調査の場合と同じで、噴火災害に関するコミュニケーション、過去の災害についての言い伝えなどについてなどであり、この結果を得ることによって、九州と北海道の災害文化の比較が可能となる。また、噴火班では、昨年度の桜島地域における住民意識調査に続いて、桜島大正3年大噴火体験者からのインテンシブな聞き取り調査ならびに個人の未公聞体験記の収集などを行なった。このことにより、昨年度の住民意識調査の結果をより的確に解釈することができた。台風班に関しては、鹿児島県鹿児島市と奄美大島において台風災害の実態調査と地域住民の災害意識の調査を実施した。調査は災害体験者に対するケーススタディ的な聞き取り調査法によって実施され、有益なステートメントを得た。また、関係各方面から資料を得、現在のところ、調査結果の検討、資料の整理を行なっている。
