项目摘要

出土繊維製品の組織の特徴と機の構造との関係について、これまでの調査内容を包括的に検討するとともに、残された課題について補足調査を行った。昨年度に引き続き、彦根市稲部遺跡出土繊維製品の織り組織の分析と織り技法の復元的考察を進めた。経三枚綾の組織により織り出された綾杉文とともに観察される、市松文の組織について検討し、織り技法の再現を試みた。ごく一部に観察される不規則な組織については、経糸の開口操作の過ちによるものと推定でき、機の構造のみならず、織手の技能にかかわる議論へと展開できそうである。また、尼崎市水堂古墳出土の靫(ゆき)の調査を行い、織り組織を観察・記録した。続いて、沖ノ島祭祀遺跡出土の金銅製紡織具の調査を実施した。沖ノ島祭祀遺跡の金銅製紡織具については、従来、麻の製糸具である「タタリ」として分類されたものの中に「綛かけ」が存在することがわかり、また、少数ではあるが、有機台腰機を構成すると考えられる部品の重要性を認識した。国宝金銅製高機を含め、個々の紡織具の資料解釈を進めていく必要がある。この他、徳島市や勝山市において紡織にかかわる民俗例の調査を行った。勝山市ではNPO法人ゆめおーれ勝山の協力を得て、麻の栽培から製糸、腰機による布の製織までの工程と技術に関する聞き取り調査を進め、実演を交えた意見交換を行った。また、腰機の技術と布の規格との関係について、『国立歴史民俗博物館研究報告』235のなかで報告した。ラオスや台湾の腰機の民族例との比較により、古代日本の女性たちが保持した腰機の技術の形態が、律令国家により規定された布の規格の由来となったことを考察した。
