The aim of the project is to carry out basic research in the field of the socio-political organization of the Iron Age communities in the central Zagros highlands of western Iran with the targeted processing, evaluation and publication of the already collected data from archaeological field research in the years 2017–2021 and to investigate them in the context of the Assyrian Empire striving for resources and therefore expanding into the Zagros Mountains.
