本研究の目的は応用ミクロ経済学の知見を用いて日本の流通の実態における経済滝メカニズムを分析することにあった。研究ではまずメーカー・小売間のリスクに対する態度の違いによる取引メカニズムの類型化が行われた。その上で小売間に競争を導入することによってその取引メカニズムにどのような変化が生じてくるのかが検討された。その結果小売店が同質の商品を販売している時には垂直的取引制限をおこなわなくても小売の参入退出によってメーカーによって効率的な状態が生じるが、小売店が個々にサービスを行って差別化を行っているときにはそのような状態は生ぜずメーカーの垂直的取引制限が行われる可能性があることが示された。この小売間の競争状態の違いによる取引メカニズムの違いについては1996年度の理論・計量経済学会で報告をおこなった。さらに具体的事例をして医療品を取り上げそこでの取引メカニズムに関してケーススタディーをおこなった。ケーススタディーはアパレルメーカー・デパート・商社系繊維専門研究機関からのヒアリングに基づいて婦人物ス-ツの商品の流通(物流)、卸売り価格・小売価格の決定、人件費の負担と利益の配分などについて整理を行った。このケーススタディーからまずチェーンオペレーションによって実質的な小売業者としての機能を果しているアパレルメーカーの行動を確認することができた。これは個々のデパートに比べてより絞り込んだ商品構成でより広い商圏を対象とするアパレルメーカーに方が個々の需要変動を吸収しやすいことから生じているとみることができる。しかし従来の委託販売制に代表されるアパレル・デパート間の取引メカニズムは小売店間の競争の激化によって変化を迫られている。この変化は小売間の競争状態の変化によってメーカー・小売間の取引メカニズムが変化する上記の理論的結果と符合する現実的結果とみることができるものと思われる。

The purpose of this study is to analyze the current situation of Japan's circulation by using the knowledge of circulation science. The study was conducted on the typologies of attitude and behavior among small groups. The competition between the two sides is very important.
