项目摘要

史料調査については、①福井県敦賀関係、②日本海側各府県関係、③北海道小樽関係、以上各地域に関係するものの史料収集を行った。①に関しては、5・7・9・12・2月に、福井県文書館・福井県立図書館での史料閲覧・撮影、および戦前期敦賀の地元有力者であった田保家・葉加瀬家・那須家・木村家で各家所蔵史料の撮影に加えて聞き取り調査を行った。これによって、福井県および敦賀に関する統計などの史料や、戦前期敦賀の市長や貿易業者、醸造業者に関する私文書を収集することができた。②に関しては、6・10・12・2・3月に、秋田県秋田市・山形県酒田市・京都府京都市・鳥取県境港市・島根県松江市・富山県高岡市および富山市等で史料閲覧・撮影を行った。これによって、明治から昭和戦前期までの日本海側各港湾都市に関する統計史料や港湾修築関係史料、および商工会や商工会議所関係史料を収集することができた。③に関しては、9・2月に日本海側地域と経済・文化的に関係が深かった北海道小樽に関する史料について、北海道立図書館・北海道文書館、および小樽市総合博物館・市立小樽図書館で調査を行った。これによって、明治から昭和戦前期の小樽の統計史料や商工人名録、および明治期小樽で活動していた商家西川家の経営史料を収集することができた。研究成果の発表として、5月の歴史地理学会大会で、修士論文の研究に関して「戦前期敦賀商工会議所の地域振興策と地域間ネットワーク」という題で発表を行った。また、明治期小樽の紳士録を分析した研究を「明治期の小樽における商工業者の移住過程―『小樽区実業家百撰立志編』の分析―」という題で紀要論文として発表した。
