本研究は、東京都市圏における中国系移民の居住移動から移民の社会統合のプロセスとその結果を明らかにする。2022年度では、大きく、中国系移民の状況と日本の大都市圏における移民全体の状況について調査研究を行ってきた。2022年度では、当初の計画通り、中国系移民を対象に、オンラインによる調査票調査を行うことができた。まず、オンライン調査票調査を行う前に、調査票調査の調査項目と研究仮説の妥当性を確認するのに、12名の東京圏在住、在学の中国系移民を対象にインタビュー調査を行うことができた(5月~6月)。インタビュー調査の結果に踏まえ、調査票の修正を行った。そのうえで、7月8日から9月1日にかけて予定していた調査を行った。本調査は科学技術振興機構に登録してある日本における中国系団体のうち、事務局が東京都市圏に設置してあり、かつメールアドレスあるいはウィーチャットのいずれの連絡方式が明記されている団体を抽出し、いずれかの組織に参加している者を調査対象者とした。すべての組織の事務局あるいは事務責任者、団体長宛に調査協力のお願いをメールにて送信した。本調査の結果、約1600人の回答が集められた。9月以降、集められたデータに対してクリーニングを行い、基礎集計と分析を行った。そこで得られた成果について、2023年6月開催の世界社会学会大会において口頭発表する予定である。また、中国系移民の居住移動研究を推進するとともに、マクロレベルでの日本大都市において移民に関しての居住分断状況に関する研究もアメリカ人口学会のポスターセッションに採択された。
