项目摘要

本研究は、16世紀九州における権力構造の検討を通し、新たな地域権力論の構築を目指すことを目的としている。本年度は、（１）検討の前提となる史料収集・調査、（２）基礎的な政治過程・権力構造の整理を主として行った。（１）に関しては、九州地域に所在する史料の調査を行うとともに、これまでに集めた史料の再精査を進めることができている。この史料調査の成果に関しては、今後の研究に反映していくものと考えられる。（２）については、九州地域における大名・有力領主の政治動向・社会秩序について分析を進めた。本年度は、16世紀中期の南部九州情勢が、明朝浙江当局の動向や、倭寇集団の活動状況、また畿内情勢とも密接に絡み合いながら展開していることを、『日本一鑑』など海外史料も用いながら検討を行い、すでに査読雑誌を投稿している。また大友氏の権力構造についても、中世法から近世法への遷移ということも踏まえた上で検討を加えた。大友氏権力は従来、重臣集団による合議が「制度的」に重要な意味を持つ合議的な権力とされてきた。しかし、日本中世における「法」の特質を考えると、「制度」なるものの存在そのものを問い直さねばならない。以上の点を踏まえて検討を重ねた結果、大友氏権力においては、当主の上意が権力の駆動において重要な役割を果たしており、重臣集団は当主の上意をもっとも得やすい人間関係を維持していたことを根拠として、権力内で大きな影響力を発揮した。つまり、大友氏権力を「合議」の権力とはみなすことができない。大友氏の権力構造は、傘下諸人が「上意」を求めてもっとも合理的な行動を行うことによって形成された構造であった。これについても、すでに論文化して査読雑誌に投稿しており、掲載が決定している。
