项目摘要

1.ニホンザルを中心とするサルグループ:(1)採食生態学的解析、個体同士は食物種も違えて競争を回避しているが、一方個体には社会的属性を消去する伴食許容空間があり、また食物が集中したり貧困な所では順位や血縁が採食行動に影響する。(2)群れの統合における血縁制、家系長の雌、リーダー等の役割の解明。(3)小群が集中し地域社会を形成している屋久島では社会性比がほぼ1に近く、交尾期の雄の移動が激しく、雄の順位と繁殖成功度の相関は低いが、孤立群では社会性比が小さく、交尾行動と順位や個体の経歴は相関しており、雄の繁殖成功度は社会構造によって決まる。雌については、出産率、死亡率、出産間隔、初産年齢などを家系に従って解析した結果、繁殖成功度と家系順位は必ずしも相関しない。(4)餌付け群で給餌量と個体群動態との関連を調べ、生命表が作製された。(5)個体群維持の内部要因としての寄生虫、細菌性疾病、生体の防御機構等の研究。(6)個体関係の発達、遊び、母親のケアと赤ん坊の行動等を順位と出産経験等から分析。Allomotheringを血縁淘汰と利他行動の両面から分析。(7)文化的行動における劣位者の新行動の獲得と伝播における役割の確認。(8)チンパンジーの道具使用と製作に関する実験的分析。2.ヒトグループ:(1)養蜂や漁撈、山村の焼畑耕作など伝統的生業の実体の把握と都市化による変容過程の分析と共に個人及び集団の生存戦略の考察。(2)日本海中部地震の人々の反応の人類学的分析から伝承に支えられた地域共同体の基底文化の重要性の指摘。(3)島という閉鎖空間での対人葛藤の調整機構を血縁、性、年齢などの生物的諸要素と宗教などとの関係から分析。自然、社会、文化の一体化した系として把えた人間社会の特質は、社会生物学的視点からだけでは説明できない。(4)生業活動と共同体維持機構の問題、対人関係の調整や葛藤の解消のための行動の規範、宗教の分析的研究。
