1.ユーザインターフェース作成支援システムと記述言語の研究使いやすい応用プログラムを作るには、ユーザインターフェイスの部分にも相当の労力を費やさねばならない。その労力はプログラムの基本機能の作成に要するより、3倍から10倍も多くかかるということがいわれる。その労力を軽減し、かつ、良質のユーザインターフェイスを提供することが望まれるが、この研究で、関連するひとまとまりのデータの入出力を1セッションととらえ、1セッションで入出力されるべきデータについての静的な記述を、プログラムでのデータ構造とともに定義することにより、動的なくわしい入出力手続きを作成する必要をなくす。この記述をするための言語UIDLを設計し、C言語で書かれた本体の中に違和感なくその記述をうめこんだ形でのプログラム開発を可能とした。作成した処理系はその記述から通常のC言語プログラムと別に作成したユーザインタフェイス管理システムUIMSへの制御データを作成し、実行時にはUIMSはその記述にしたがって、応用プログラムの要求するデータを入出力を代行する。この方法で、労力すくなく、かなりきめこまかいユーザインターフェイスが実現できる。2.文書間関連情報を利用した個人用文書ファイルシステム光ディスク等のハードウェアを活用して、文書や画像などの大量データを蓄積し利用することが可能となってきた。その機能を活用し、個人用の研究メモ、参考資料、原稿、報告書などの研究活動にともなって必要な文書の保存と検索を便利にするシステムを構想し、そのプロトタイプシステムを作成し、評価を一部おこなった。その結果、現状の試作システムでのデータでは、今後現われるであろうパソコンでよりよいデータベースシステムを前提とすれば、本研究の構想は実用化も可能であると考えられる。
