There are several types of mother's participation in pediatric nursing. Tsukisoi, Japanese style rooming-in, and visiting are common types of mother's participation. We have started on an investigation about Tsukisoi before 1985., we studied about fatigue of mother's who stayed with hospitalized children for 24 hours.In 1985, we investigated about an outline of mother's participation in pediatric nursing by questioneir to head nurses in pediatric wards,and found out that rates of Tsukisoi varied from zero to 96.4%. Also, there were various kinds of reasoning about mother's participation in pediatric nursing.The second year, we investigated behaviour of mothers and children who were roomed-in when children were hospitalized. We observed them from 5am to 9pm. Interview of mothers were held at the same time to find what did they think about Tsukisoi. The same observation and interview were made on mothers who were visiting their hospitalized children.The third year, a survey was made about backgrounds of hospitalized children and mothers who stayed with their children for 24 hours.In this study, it seemed that child's age is the most important factor to detarmine whether they stay with them for 24 hours or not.We still continue to investigate about nurse's opinion and reasoning about Tsukisoi.

有几种类型的母亲参与儿科护理。Tsukisoi，日本风格的住屋和拜访是母亲参与的常见类型。我们开始对1985年以前的月井病进行调查。本研究对住院儿童24小时的母亲疲劳进行了研究。1985年，我们通过对儿科病区护士长的问卷调查，对母亲参与儿科护理的情况进行了调查，发现冢氏病的发生率从0到96.4%不等。此外，母亲参与儿科护理的理由也多种多样。第二年，我们调查了儿童住院时住在房间里的母亲和儿童的行为。我们从早上5点观察到晚上9点。与此同时，对母亲们进行了采访，以了解她们对冢井的看法。同样的观察和访谈也发生在那些去医院看望孩子的母亲身上。第三年，对住院儿童和与孩子在一起24小时的母亲的背景进行了调查。在这项研究中，孩子的年龄似乎是决定他们是否和父母呆在一起24小时的最重要因素。我们仍在继续调查护士对冢井病的看法和原因。
