项目摘要

機械処理の支えとなる言語理論は、形式化された体系的なものであることを要する。また、高度の処理を目指せば、文脈構造や文章構造にまで立ち入った研究が必要である。かかる目標を設定してこの研究を行った。1.意味記述体系の構築。釈義表現の形式化を狙い、それの利用の際の論理系まで含めた形式体系の試作を、親族名およびその関連表現(名詞・動詞)の範囲で行った。一般化の見込みが立ったので、文意記述にまで拡張してゆく予定。文章展開と意味との関係についても予備的研究をした。2.文章の機械的生成。よい文章を対象にし、文章の各部に当てた、意図の構造という観点から、手紙文140種を分析した。これらについては、パラグラフ-システムによる文章生成用データベースを作成。また説明・報告・解説・論文に対しても、標準的な構造を抽出。次年度にデータベース化する。3.日本語のGPSG。日本文法の骨組として、助詞・助動詞を中心とした形態素の接続関係の形式的記述を行った。日本語の補語構造・付加構造の記述も精密化した。これらはプログラミング言語への翻訳の容易さを意識して記述してあり、次年度以降に機械化する予定。市販の機械翻訳システムで不十分な所が、形態素・構文論双方の観点から明らかになってきた。4.文脈構造に立つ言語理解。人間の言語(運用)能力の中でも文法知識や言語外知識に基づきテクスト・談話を柔軟に処理する能力は、注目に価する。かかる情報処理能力を解明する基礎として、間接照応の設定にかかわる日本語の推論事象の明確化を図った。命題の概念内容に基づく意味的推論と常識的・デフォールト的推論とが、先行詞と照応詞との認定のプロセスの文脈的基盤として重要なことを、明らかにした。
