项目摘要

農村における余暇生活といえば, かっては部落行事として生産のサイクルにセットにされていたと考えられる. しかし, 近年の生活全般にわたる都市化傾向は, 農家生活をも都会なみの水準・形態にまで変化させている. 本研究は農家の置かれている現代的な状況について, 余暇生活という側面から検討を加えるのが目的の一つであり, また他方で, 東北農村を平場と山間部で比較することをも試みようとした.まず余暇ないし娯楽という側面から東北農村をみてみると, 農業の置かれている厳しい状況を反映して, たとえば部落行事のもたれ方も少しずつ変化していることが観察された. それらのうち主要なものは, 農家の経営内容の多様化・個別化による行事運営の多少の修正と, にもかかわらず各集落で意欲的に取り組まれている様々の創意工夫の発生である. 一方で, 庄内地方において調査を行なった鶴岡市京田地区(平場農村)の場合は, 兼業の深化, 後継者難, 複合経営への移行などもみられるものの, 米づくりを基本とした農家経営ならびにそれを互助する部落運営も, 基本的には大きく変化していないと思われる事例もある. しかし他方で, 高速交通網の整備やそれによる観光開発の急速な展開がみられる岩手県安代町に注目してみると, 農家の生活は大きく変貌し, 出稼ぎや兼業先の近距離化, 民宿経営など非農業部門の拡大などによって, 各農家の経営パターンも変化しつつある. これによって余暇利用の形態も個別化が進行する度合が高いようにみられた.農家の余暇生活という問題について, 今後は都市生活者の余暇研究で想定されている「余暇時間」と, 農家生活でのそれとの相違をより詳細に検討することを今後の課題としたい. 農家生活の都市化によって, 基本的に変化する部分と, 根づよく継承されていく構造とを確認することが必要と考えられる.
