1.球面の非負の曲率をもつリ-マン計量に対して面積と直径に関するA.D.アレキサンドロフの予想については30年以上何も知られていなかった。ここでは面積と直径に関する不等式(ベストではないが)を与えた。2.可換ではない左強固有環は、4種類のタイプの非可換環のどれかをその剰余部分環としてもつ(W.Streb)。このことの応用として、左強固有環の可換性定理を与えた。そのうちの二つは多項式関係に関するもので、他の三つは多項式関係の局所化に関するものであるが、従来得られていた多くの可換性定理を大幅に一般化し、同時に一元化もはかった。3.従来、ブ-ル環やJ環の一般化として考えられた環の概念を自然な形で一般化し、ある種の強正則環と、ある種のベキ零元の直和に分解される環として特徴づけた。4.生成部分空間を持つH空間という概念を導入して、これまで知られていたH空間についての、いくつかの問題について、そこに付されていた技術的仮定を取り除いても同じ結果が成り立つことを、Adams作用素とHubbuck作用素を用いて示した。Stiefel多様体がmod2H空間となるための必要十分条件も示した。5.古典群の球面拡大として得られるH空間のホモトピ-結合性について研究し、それが古典群の拡張となるための必要十分条件を、束の特性写像の写像度を用いて特徴づけた。さらに同様のことが、高次ホモトピ-結合性についても成り立つことを示した。6.Bousfield-Kanによって与えられていた局所化関手を、位相的に再構成し、それが連続関手であることを示した。このことにより、空間に対する複雑な構造も、そのまま局所化空間に持ちこむことが可能となった。その結果、高次結合的H空間の局所化は、また、高次結合的であることを示した。
