This report presents the results of the measurement of the impact electrification of the purity water and the discussion of the charging mechanism of the insulating solid stirface. The charging potential distribution of the insulating solid surface has been measured as a function of the resiscivity of water (several KOMEGA cm - 10MOMEGA cm), the thickness of solid sample (50mu m - 8mm), and the impact velocity of water (4 - 12m/s). Insulating solid used for this investigation are PTFE(polytetrafluoroethylene), PE(polyetliylene), silicone rubber and cis-14-polyisoprene.It is found that the charging potential of the insulating solid surface increases with decreasing the conductivity of water, increasing the impact velocity of water or increasing the thickness of solid sample. It is also found that the charging potential shows considerable value when the impact velocity is zero. That is, the impact electrification of water consists of the charging due to the impact energy of water and the contact charging. Particularly, the impact electrification is affected the most of the contact electrification. It is considered that these phenomena is related to the admolecular of water on the insulating solid surface.
