1.産業構造調整下における地場産業の特性をとらえるために、国際化、産業の融業化、研究開発部門・高次加工部門の強化という視点から北陸地方の地場産業の特性を企業面接および各種統計資料を用いて分析し、とくに富山県の特徴を明らかにした。2.国際化については、原材料調達および製品出荷の貿易面から外国への依存度をみる考え方と、技術提携や研修生受け入れなど、人的交流を中心として貿易以外の側面から国際化をとらえる考え方がある。富山県の場合、貿易面での依存度は地場産業の全体平均ではきわめて小さい。人的交流の面でも必ずしも活発とはいえないが、技術提携や研修生受け入れ・技術指導を実施している企業のヒアリング調査からは、そのメリットとして、(1)技術開発の助力、(2)国際的な視野の広がり、(3)技術指導での刺激によるモラ-ルの向上の3点をあげることができる。3.産業の融業化あるいは研究部門の強化については、同業種あるいは異業種間の交流プロジェクト数を指標とすれば、時系列的にも増加しており、必ずしも不活発とはいえない。この背景には、富山県における教育機関および研究機関の最近の急速な充実をあげることができる。したがって、産官学の協力も以前と比較すれば数量的には充実してきているといえる。しかしながら、各プロジェクトや産官学の協力が相互に連携するまでには至っていないため、その効果が一部の企業、産業にしか還元されていない。4.産業の融業化、産官学の協力、教育機関による人材養成は、富山県の場合、むしろ始まって日が浅い。数年後の事後評価がぜひとも必要である。
