Professor Xu, associate professor Yang and associate professor Zhou have come from Guangxi Agricultural College in China to Japan by this fund, and have researched the actual condition of orchid culture in Gifu and Aichi prefecture. Aichi prefecture is especially advanced aria for orchid culture in Japan.Professor Xu obtained the information of the list of orchid plants culturing in Japan, and selected ten orchid varieties with future value in China from discussion with cultivators.Professor Xu took hundred orchid nursery plantlets from one of orchid cultivators, those were breeding by the cultivator, and was entrust the nursing of the plantlets by him.Professor Xu and two have inspected the micropropagation company in Toyohashi City. They obtained the information of the education methods of researchers and micropropagation in China. Professor Xu signed a prospectus of joint company for production of micropagated plants.In Gifu university and Guangxi agricultural college, the micropropagation of Vanda, one of orchids, was studied. In Guangxi agricultural college, the basal medium and plant growth regulators were investigated, and these results were contributed in Journal of Guangxi agricultural university. In Gifu university, somatic embryogenesis and shoot tip culture were researched.
