The interrelationship of pulp and periodontal tissues

为了研究牙髓与牙周组织之间的相互关系，采用激光多普勒测速仪研究了组胺溶液在牙髓和龈沟处的急性反应。实验结果如下：1.实验结果表明：组胺溶液直接作用于PL时，应用组胺溶液后，PL血流量立即增加。洗去组胺后，这种增加消失了。组胺溶液分别应用于暴露的牙髓表面和龈沟后，左牙血流也增加。冲洗掉涂抹区域的组胺后，这些增加并没有消失。这些结果表明，在应用组胺溶液作为示踪剂后测量组织血流量在方法上对评估组织之间的炎症传播是有用的。

In order to study the interrelationship between the dental pulp and the periodontal tissues, acute response of the periodontal ligament (PL) blood flow to an application of histamine solution to the dental pulp and the gingival sulcus was investigated using laser Doppler velocimetry. The results were as follows:1. When histamine solution was directly applied to PL, PL blood flow increased immediately after its application. This increase disappeared after washing out the histamine.2. PL blood flow also increased after applying the histamine solution to the exposed pulp surface and the gingival sulcus, respectively. These increases did not disappear after washing out the histamine in the applied area.These results indicate that a measurement of tissue blood flow following an application of histamine solution as a tracer is methodologically useful to evaluate an inflammation spread between the tissues.
