1.中学生および高校生を対象とした顎関節症状の調査の実施;昨年度と同地域の中学2校、高校2校において学校歯科健診時に実施した。2.大学生を対象とした調査の実施;北学道大学および北海道医療技術短期大学部の学生を対象として入学時および卒年時の健康診査時に本学の健康管理センターにて調査を実施した。3. 上 結果の概要;得られたデータを昨年度作成した集計プログラムに入力して分析した結果、中高生の9%、大学生の13%(最大開口度の項目を除く)に顎関節症状が検出され、中高生の20%、大学生の25%に質問票による症状経験が認められた。2.の結果を1992年10月に開催された日本公衆衛生学会に発表した。近年、病院統計等により若年者の顎関節症が増加しているといわれているが、本調査によって青少年期の一般集団においてもかなりの割合で同症状を有している者がいることが明らかになった。しかし、本症のような疾患の検出においては、その検出項目や基準によって検出率が大きく変わってしまう。このようなことから本調査の妥当性を検討するために下記の調査を追加した。4.各診査項目における再現性の検討;本学歯学部の学生および本学附属病院に来院し顎関節症と1次診断された患者を対象とした重複診査により各項目における診査者間および診査者内変動をしらべるもので、現在継続中である。現在までの結果としては、1部(顎運動における円滑性の欠如)を除き、診査者間および内とも良好な一致を示している。又この調査により、昨年度試作した顎偏位測定器の有効性が示唆されている。今後、4の調査をすでに実施した小学生〜大学生における顎関節症状の調査結果にフィードバックして再検討する予定である。
