本年度は、(1)「住みよい地域づくりアンケート」(サンプル数390部)、(2)「地域に対する若者の意識調査」(サンプル数510部)、(3)「地域づくりに関する若者アンケート」(サンプル数2000部)の3本のアンケート調査の実施を中心の研究を進めてきた。(1)は、山口県の都市近郊、平場、中山間地の農家を対象に、家族構成化と農家運営の変化を明らかにし、少子化社会の中での農家のあり方を明確化していく調査である。配票、回収は終了しているが、集計、分析は完了していないため、報告書への記入までには到っていない。今後、早急に結果の公表をおこないたい。(2)は、島根県東部の高校生を対象に、定住、移動、還流に関する高校生の意識調査を実施した。本調査は、基礎的な分析まで終了しており、研究報告書(第二部 過疎地若者の地域意識)に収録した。(3)は、山口県下の農山村に住む20才代〜30才代の地域後継者を対象とする生活意識および出産に関するアンケートを実施した。(1)と同様、配票、回収は終了したが、集計、分析の途中であり、研究報告書への記入までは到っていない。以上のアンケート調査研究と平行しておこなってきた集落構造調査は、集落点検作業の手法開発などを通じて、農山村の少子化構造のヒアリング調査が各地でおこなえた。その結果、農山村を少子化社会として位置づけていく作業は、ある程度進展した。しかし、少子化社会論への構築は、本研究が途についたばかりであり、今後の継続的な研究が必要であると考えている。個々の成果としては、(a)現代農山村の若年層の社会的性格の変質や、(b)過疎地での人口動態分析の高度化などの成果があったものと考えている。このことについては、報告書の中で記述している。
