1.ヤコビ-形式の空間へのHecke作用素の作用の跡(trace)を、群SL_2(R)のHrjhal,Fischerらによって得にれた一般的なSelberg跡公式を用いてexplicitに計算した。一般的Selberg跡公式が利用できることの利点として、weightの小さいヤコビ-形式の空間へのHecke作用素の跡が、ある種のSelberg型ゼ-タ関数の極の留数を用いて閉じた形に記述できる。特別な場合には、このSelberg型ゼ-タ関数は、群SL_2(Z)のthetaーmultiplier system付きのSelbergゼ-タ関数になる。また、同じ手段により、歪正則なヤコビ-形式の空間へのHecke作用素の跡も、explicitに計算できる。我々の方法では、正則、歪正則なヤコビ-形式の空間へのHecke作用素の跡が統一的に扱える利点があり、weightの小さい場合のそれらの跡の間の関係がSelberg型ゼ-タ関数の極の留数を介して自然に導かれる。2.実2次体の類数に関するChowla予想に関連してChowla予想の仮定をみたす実2次体の判別式Dについて新しい評価を得た。GoldfeldーDesterleの方法を深化させ、MordellーWeil rankが3つの有理数体上のmodular楕円曲線の存在(このような例は知られている)を仮定して、上記判別式Dの上からの評価を得た。この評価に、楕円曲線のL-関数のS=1での値が関係してくる点が興味深い。特に、楕円曲線のS=1での値(critical pointsでの特殊値)に関するLindelof仮説を仮定すれば、判別式Dの値の上からのeffectiveな評価が得られる。この仮説は、ある場合には、半整数保型形式のRamanujan予想と同値であることが知られており、Chowla予想がこのような保型形式の理論の難しい予想と結びつくことは注目すべき点である。
