项目摘要

本研究の目的は,共分散構造分析における双方向因果モデルに基づいて因果推論を行う際の,モデルの利用上の注意に関する具体的な知見を得ることである。この目的のために大きく分けて以下の2つの研究を行った。1:先行諸研究に示されたデータの再分析に基づく展望と理論的考察適用上の留意点をまとめるために,人工データに基づく理論的考察と先行諸研究の実データの再分析を行った。再分析したのは海外の学術誌及び文献から収集し,精選した代表的な5つのデータであった。先行諸データの再分析の際,双方向因果モデルを識別するための道具的変数の組み合わせを組織的に交換するという方法で一つのデータに対して50種類以上のモデルを適用し,結果の比較を行った。これらの結果から得られた主要な知見は以下の2点である。(1)内生変数が2,外生変数が2または3変数からなる構造方程式モデルの内生2変数に双方向の因果を仮定したモデルにも,統計的に適合が等しい「等価モデル」が存在し,等価モデル間の優劣の決定は統計的観点から行うことはできない。(2)同じデータであっても異なる道具的変数を設定すると2変数間の因果の方向に関する結果が逆転することもある。したがって道具的変数の設定には,統計的と言うよりも個別科学的な強い理論的根拠が必要である。2:調査研究データにおける適用以下の2種類の調査データへの適用を行い,個別科学的理論に照らして妥当な結果が得られた。(1)統計数理研究所の「日本人の国民性調査」第9回全国調査のデータについて,「生活に対する満足感」と「社会に対する満足感」に関する分析を行った結果,示唆された因果の方向は「生活に対する満足感」→「社会に対する満足」である。(2)育児中の母親に対する調査データについて,「育児満足感」と「自尊心」に関する分析を行った結果,示唆された因果の方向は「育児満足感」→「自尊心」の方向である。
