今年度研究の概要第1に、民族楽器の作成にはじまり、オリジナルの音楽表現を行うような、授業プランを作成し、中学校、小学校において試行を行った。中心的素材は、フィリピンの「うなり竹」(バリンビン)であった。従来の「音楽科」の教育内容を越えて、人間の芸術的表現の発生について考える授業内容を意図し、また活動においては従来美術、あるいは図工に含められた活動をも設定したが、中心になるのは、音楽表現である。試行においては、授業者と、カリキュラム開発者が共に、具体的な授業展開を計画する場、授業参観、授業記録に基づいて授業を分析的に検討する場を持つようにした。授業者が、この単元を実施する過程で自己の授業観を変容させていくことも目的の一つであったからである。試行の結果、この教材を中学校においても適切に展開することができることがわかり、授業者の変容についても、予想したような一定の結果が得られた。小学校における試行は、現在継続中である。第2に、このような教材および単元を、小学校6年間あるいは中学校3年間の芸術教育カリキュラムの中にどのように位置づけることが適切であるかについて検討した。音楽科においては、この教材・単元が、授業者の授業観や音楽観に影響を与えることによって、従来の演奏を中心とした内容にも効果的な影響を及ぼす様相を、試行の結果から読み取ることができた。
